Two Phases of Wrong Fuel Drainer

There are so many horrible stories of wrong-fuelling and unfortunately people believe those. I often wonder why they ignore facts and figures. But then most of us are fond of fairytales and fear-provoking narration. Some react – after knowing that they have pumped fuel into car tank – in such a way that it seems they have seen ghosts. I am a wrong fuel drainer and have been in this profession for more than 10 years. I have handled several mis-fuelling incidents and can assure you that only a tiny percentage of cases turn out to be dreadful. Others require simple recovery that is done in two phases.

First Phase of Fuel Recovery

It involves pumping out contaminated fuel from the car tank. The wrong fuel specialist uses a long pipe. They carry a drum-shaped container to store the recovered oil. Extreme care is taken to ensure safety to the employees at the site of recovery, the motorist, pedestrians, cars and other physical assets and last but not the least, environment. A pump is attached to the car tank while its other end is put into the container. The pump sucks oil from the tank. However, it is not able to remove the left-out in the tank and other components seated along the fuel pump.

Second Phase of Fuel Recovery

The first phase of fuel recovery is not enough to remove fuel mixture. So, the wrong fuel professionals adopt the complete fuel flush-out method. They first put fresh fuel into the car tank and then flush it out with force so that the left-out of fuel mixture is eliminated. After it is done, fresh fuel is again installed and the car is started. If it produces smooth ride and no abnormal sound, the job is done. If any problem is found, further checking and rectification become important. Problems are rectified by repairing and/or replacement depending on the damages.
